A Home That Can Never Be Shaken

To what have we stooped,
with what have we looped?

Though the stars twinkle above,
our home has dissolved the bonds of love.

Desolate are we, like glass shattered on a rock;
we should wrap our arms together and ne'er undo the lock.

No feeling breaks the cold, hard ice;
the future is foretold by the cast of dice.

The Piper's fife has finally rung;
our doom is sealed - the song has been sung.

But hope remains among the dust;
God grant us mercy to rid the rust.

The bonds of love can be renewed;
our house a home can soon be hewed.

If we would but turn to God;
He'll make us strong with heavenly sod.

United we'll be forevermore:
a home with a welcoming door.

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."  ~Joshua 24:15

What a lovely poem! I have been here a couple of times and am amazed at your talent for poetry. It's a real blessing!
In Christ,
