True Women

I'm reading a very interesting book right now, called Sarah Morgan: The Civil War Diary of a Southern Woman. This is a great book, but also very sad at times. Her diary shows very closely into her life, the sorrows of the war, the troubles she and her family faced, as well as the suffering around her. Reading Sarah Morgans diary is giving me a closer look into the life of a young woman who lived during The War of Northern Aggression, or The War Between The States. Everything they suffered is just terrible! But her diary also shows me how strong the Southern women were, that they bore it all in honor. They worked long and hard for their family members in uniform, as well as all the men. They may have lost all earthly possessions, but they didn't give up hope in their cause, of in the faithfulness of God. They held true, ever being strong and never giving up!

The women of today could learn a great lesson from the Southern women. We are created different from men, and we are not supposed to be equal in every standing. Men are the bread winners and providers, women are the homemakers who take care of their children and husband. The women are supposed to take care of the house and their family while the husband goes off the provide. The woman of today have it all mixed up and backwards. God didn't plan for woman to be the head of the home, or to go off and have a career while the husband stays at home and takes care of the kids. She is supposed to be feminine and lovely, a godly woman who follows God's commands, not what she wants. God give us women who will follow the calling He has given to us and may we ever be true to that calling!
