The Virtuous Woman

One woman alone stands out among the rest;
she's like a shining jewel, even among the best.

Her eyes sparkle like the stars across the evening sky;
Falling short of her radiance, no one comes nigh.

Her smile lights up the room, like hearts in glad song;
Brighter than the sun, her love shines strong.

Her children rise up and call her Mother;
her husband loves her more than any other.

Blessed is she as virtuously she works;
Protecting her family, even when danger lurks.

Her behavior is holy, with much wisdom from above;
Each child she wraps in her arms to comfort with her love.

Her husband praises her wondrous beauty;
Caring not what the world thinks, she fulfills her duty.

Her beauty rare shines from within her heart;
Striking hard at evil like a piercing dart.

Kindness is her only nature to each and every one;
every task accomplished earns a hearty "well done!"

She fears the Lord with a heart that is strong;
her character so noble is sung in the sweetest song.

Honorably she deals with the law of love;
she knows hate shall never rule in heaven above.

Keeper of the home is her position;
from Wife to Mother is her transition.

God knew just how much she would be worth;
No one can compare her might, no, not the whole earth!

When she is old and tired, and no longer spry;
she will have earned a reward from God on high.

Though some may wonder who she may be;
this virtuous woman is closest to me.

I see her actions each and every day;
"I love this Mother of mine!" is all that I can say.

A Special Event...

I just wanted to share the good news that my Mama, Founder, Establisher, and Author of Covenant Blessings, is hosting a giveaway for reaching her 100th post. (I'm so proud of her!)  Perhaps you are looking for a couple of good reads? Maybe some new washcloths (even if you don't want to do those dirty dishes)? Here is the place to go! Check out her whole blog while you're at it.  I'm telling you- it is a worthwhile place.  ☺ Even just to catch a little bit of her good natured humor.

A Song of Praise

My heart feels light, my chains are gone;
the night has left, now comes the dawn.

I need not cry these tears anymore,
for God has opened my heart's little door.

I can shout for joy with arms thrown wide;
the ocean has swept away my sorrow with its tide.

Praises I'll sing to my Maker above,
for He has wrapped me tightly in arms filled with love.

"I'm fearfully and wonderfully made!" I shout to the world;
Since God has come, His banner I've unfurled.

Sorrow no longer terrifies my sleep;
it's all been thrown far into the raging deep.

Singing I dance around the room;
no more do I feel evil's dark doom.

I'm light, I'm loved, I'm forevermore free;
Since Christ has bought my eternal price, forevermore His I'll be.

Praise Him! Praise Him! Shout to Him in song!
He loves me! He loves me! He'll guide me along.

Will I fear when God is my Light?
He'll never let me go, but will always hold me tight.

"I'm beautifully made!" I shout once more;
God has fashioned me together, down to my very core.

My song will ne'er end, for now I feel loved;
This grace has been given me from God up above.

The Storm

On this Life's stormy sea,
dismayed and troubled I be.
I need a Comforter to calm this storm,
a beautiful new horizon to form.

This storm has unleashed its rage,
a great battle wherewith to wage.
Waves compass me with ferocious power,
daunted I cry in fear as I cower.

Terror runs to my very core,
soon the storm will seize me in its lore.
As I cling to this piece of wood,
I'd swim to shore if only I could!

But alas! The storm is wild!
Its anger has been riled.
Where is my Deliverance? is my cry,
Will I be left alone to die?

As I lift my tear-streaked face,
I think of my earthly race.
Had my Father deserted me,
given me up to the power of the sea?

Would I be lost forevermore,
never again to reach the shore?
But now the sun shines through the rain,
sorrow disappears with the storm's main.

Lo my Comforter has come,
deliverance is mine with which to run.
My doubts have been erased,
joy and praise together been laced.

God's grace is mightier than the sea,
this grace He has given is for me!
